Best FC 27 SBCs Right Now: Which Ones Are Worth Completing (and Which Are a Trap)

Every live SBC priced against the card you could buy instead: Groß, Malen and the Future Stars pick are steals, the big three POTMs mostly aren't

Best FC 27 SBCs Right Now thumbnail featuring Olise, Groß, and Raphinha player cards, with the subtitle “Which Ones Are Worth Completing?

By Parth Raj, WhatsGaming · Last updated · Every SBC cost and card price below was read off FUT.GG on 10 October.

FUT prices move hourly, so treat each coin figure as a dated snapshot. Raphinha's POTM SBC wants 1,566 Rare 84s on its cheapest route.

One thousand, five hundred and sixty-six. You'd finish the submission screen around the time TOTY drops.

Short answer: the best FC 27 SBCs right now are the cheap player SBCs where you know exactly what you're getting. Pascal Groß POTM (~20K), the EFL Championship Future Stars Pick (~15K) and Patati (~13K) give you proper starters for pocket change. Donyell Malen POTM (~95K) is the best mid-price buy. The big three, Olise, Raphinha and Pina, only make sense if you're drowning in untradeable fodder, because their tradeable versions are either far cheaper or barely worse. Upgrade SBCs are for recycling cards you already own, never for cards you'd buy.

Costs come from the FUT.GG live SBC list, and tradeable prices come from each player's FUT.GG card page linked below.

Now the receipts, cheapest first. The expensive ones get interesting at the end, I promise.

Which FC 27 SBCs are actually worth completing?

The SBCs worth completing in FC 27 are the ones where a small coin cost buys a big jump over anything you'd get on the market for the same money. Right now that's Groß, the EFL Championship Future Stars Pick, Patati and Malen. Each costs under 100K, each gives you a card that's clearly better than its tradeable version, and none of them asks you to strip your club bare.

Pascal Groß POTM: is a 20K midfielder worth it? Yes, easily

The Premier League POTM SBC needs an 18,750 score target and costs about 20K on its cheapest route. That's 18 cards, or four if you'd rather pay a touch more and use 86s and 87s.

You get an 84-rated CDM with CM as an alt position. On his FUT.GG card page, he's 76 pace, 79 shooting, 88 passing, 83 dribbling, 77 defending and 79 physical, with 88 stamina, 89 long passing and a 4-star weak foot.

Here's the comparison that matters. His tradeable TOTW card sits around 12K and FUT.GG grades it 81.4 at CM. The POTM grades 85.8 at CM. That's a big step up for roughly 8K extra.

He won't win you a sprint. Controlled AcceleRATE, 76 pace. But as a possession CM who never runs out of legs, he's the best value player SBC in the game right now.

Verdict: Cop You've got about three weeks, and it costs less than a decent chem style used to.

EFL Championship Future Stars Pick: the sneaky best SBC of the week

This one's new, cheap, and most posts haven't caught up with it yet.

The EFL Championship Future Stars Pick costs about 15K for a 14,000 score target. You pick one of Fer López, Will Lankshear, Othmane Maamma or Divine Mukasa. Fifauteam's Future Stars tracker lists all four at 84 overall.

The reason it's good isn't the 84. It's that Future Stars cards are live this year. According to FIFPlay's Future Stars guide, they gain +1 OVR at 4 domestic league starts and another +1 at 8 starts, with PlayStyle+ and 5-star weak foot upgrades for goal involvements or clean sheets. Tracking started on 9 October and the upgrades are scheduled for 3 February 2027.

So 15K buys you an 84 that could be an 86 by February. Pick the player most likely to keep starting for his club.

Verdict: Cop It's gone in about a week.

EFL Championship Future Stars Pick SBC options in EAFC 27 with Fer López, Lankshear, Maamma and Mukasa

Patati: is an 84 Squad Foundations winger worth 13K?

For the right squad, yeah.

Patati's Squad Foundations SBC costs about 13K. You get an 84 RM/RW from AZ in the Eredivisie, Brazilian, left-footed, with 90 pace, 82 shooting, 77 passing and 84 dribbling, 4-star skills and a 3-star weak foot, per his FUT.GG page.

His gold is a 72 that trades for about 700 coins. There's no tradeable version anywhere near this.

The 3-star weak foot is the catch. He's a byline-and-cross winger, not a cut-inside finisher.

Verdict: Cop if you need Eredivisie or Brazil chem on the wing. Five days left from 10 October.

Donyell Malen POTM: the best mid-price SBC in FC 27?

The Serie A POTM SBC costs about 95K for a 90,000 score target. The cheapest route is 107 cards, mostly 84s, so do it with fodder if you can.

You get an 85 ST with 87 pace, 85 shooting, 86 dribbling, 90 acceleration, 87 finishing, 4-star skills, 4-star weak foot and Explosive AcceleRATE, per his POTM card page.

His gold is an 83 that trades for about 1,000 coins. FUT.GG grades the gold 85.0 at ST and the POTM 87.6. That's a real jump, not a cosmetic one.

Is 95K a lot for an 85? On paper, yes. In game, a small, explosive striker with balanced weak foot and skills plays well above the number on his card.

Verdict: Worth it especially for Serie A or Dutch chem. Around 19 days left.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Groß, the EFL Championship pick, Patati and Malen all cost under 100K and beat anything you can buy at the same price. Do these first.

Is the Carlos Espí Future Stars SBC worth it?

The Carlos Espí SBC is worth it only if you want a tall target-man striker and you're happy to bet on his league starts. It costs about 43K for an 85 ST that's 194cm with 88 physical, 92 heading and 95 jumping. Future Stars upgrades depend on domestic league starts, so his ceiling depends on minutes.

The Espí SBC needs a 41,000 score target. On his Future Stars card page he's 85 pace, 85 shooting, 73 passing, 82 dribbling and 88 physical, with 87 finishing, 91 strength, 3-star skills and a 4-star weak foot. Lengthy AcceleRATE, so he's slow off the mark and quick once he's going.

It's a very specific card. If your striker keeps getting bullied off the ball, he's an answer. If you play quick one-twos through the middle, he isn't.

Verdict: Situational About six days left from 10 October.

Are the Olise, Raphinha and Pina POTM SBCs worth it?

For most players, no. Each costs between roughly 734K and 1.36M, and in every case there's a tradeable version that's either hundreds of thousands cheaper or almost identical in game. They only make sense if you can fill most of the target with untradeable fodder and dupes you'd never sell.

Here's the side-by-side, all from FUT.GG on 10 October.

Olise POTM: 581K for 1.6 GG points

The Bundesliga POTM SBC needs a 700,000 score target. The cheapest route is around 840 cards.

The reward's lovely, I'm not pretending otherwise. A 91 RW with RM and CAM, 92 dribbling, 90 passing, 95 vision and 5-star skills. But on Olise's FUT.GG page, his gold 90 trades for about 153K and grades 87.9 at CAM against the POTM's 89.5. The gold has 83 pace, 82 shooting, 89 passing and 91 dribbling. That's exactly one point off on every face stat.

You'd be paying roughly 581K for +1s. On a card you can never sell.

Verdict: Skip buy the gold. Do the SBC only if you've got hundreds of spare untradeable 84s doing nothing.

Michael Olise 91 POTM vs gold 90 card comparison in EAFC 27Michael Olise 91 POTM

Raphinha POTM: the one big SBC with a twist

On the surface, the LALIGA POTM SBC is madness. 1,300,000 score target, about 1.36M cheapest, and around 1,567 cards on that route.

But look at Raphinha's FUT.GG page. His TOTW 89 ST trades for about 1.6M, and FUT.GG grades it 92.3 at ST against the POTM's 92.1. The POTM is basically the TOTW card, roughly 240K cheaper.

The POTM is an 89 ST with RM, LM, CAM, RW and LW as alt positions, 92 pace, 87 shooting, 86 passing, 88 dribbling and 4-star skills and weak foot. Proper Swiss army knife of an attacker.

Meanwhile his gold 88 is about 484K and grades 89.8 at ST and 90.2 out wide. That's still a top-tier card for over 870K less.

Verdict: Skip if you'd settle for the gold. But if you were genuinely about to buy the TOTW, the SBC is the cheaper way to the same player. You just lose the ability to sell him.

Claudia Pina POTM: still a sidegrade

I went through this one stat by stat when it dropped. The Liga F POTM SBC gives you a card with the same pace, shooting, skills and weak foot as her gold, plus +1 on passing, dribbling and physical.

On 10 October the SBC costs about 1.18M, while her tradeable gold 89 is about 894K. FUT.GG's GG rating moves from 91.8 to 92.4 at ST.

The gap's narrowed since launch because the gold's gone up. It's still about 286K for sixteen +1s.

Verdict: Skip buy the gold. It has the longest runway of the big three though, at roughly 24 days.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Olise and Pina lose to their own gold cards. Raphinha only wins if you were about to pay 1.6M for his TOTW anyway.

Are upgrade SBCs worth it in FC 27?

Upgrade SBCs in FC 27 are worth it only when you're feeding them cards you already own. They swap cards you know the value of for a random reward, so buying fodder to do them is paying for a gamble. Use them to recycle dupes and spare golds, and judge each one by its typical reward, not its best one.

Max. 86 Base Hero Upgrade: a decent floor, still a gamble

The Max. 86 Base Hero Upgrade costs about 89K for one untradeable Base Hero rated 86 or lower.

I went through the full reward pool on FUT.GG. It has 37 Heroes. Of the 36 with a market price, 21 trade above the SBC's cost and the median sits around 99.5K. The top end includes Matuidi (~2.2M) and Ramires (~1.6M). The bottom end is Bierhoff (~36.5K) and Cahill (~40K).

Two catches. EA doesn't publish the odds for each Hero, so "21 of 36" isn't a 58% chance. And whatever you pack is untradeable, so a 2.2M Matuidi is worth exactly nothing to your coin balance.

Verdict: Fodder only Fun with spare 84s and 85s, silly with bought ones. About four days left from 10 October.

86 Base Hero Upgrade SBC reward pool in EAFC 2786 Base Hero Upgrade SBC Reward Pool in EAFC 27

TOTW Upgrade: wide pool, low floor

The TOTW Upgrade costs about 13K for one TOTW from weeks 1 to 4. The FUT.GG TOTW Upgrade pool lists 92 cards, and 42 of them are 80-rated.

Yes, Putellas, Dumornay and Bellingham are in there. So are a lot of 80s you'll bin by Sunday.

Verdict: Fodder only Don't buy 84s for this.

5x 80+, 3x 79+ and the Re-Rolls: which recycles your golds best?

These are your club clean-up tools. Here's what each one costs per card if you bought the fodder, using FUT.GG's 10 October cheapest solves.

Gold upgrade SBCs ranked by cost per player — FUT.GG cheapest solves, 10 October 2026
Upgrade SBCCostRewardCost per playerRepeatable

Bronze and Silver Re-roll~2.2K (500 score)1x 75+ gold~2,150Unlimited, permanent

The 5x 80+ is the best deal on the board for card quality per coin. Do it every time it refreshes while it's live. The Gold Re-Roll is the best always-on option for dumping spare golds.

Verdict: Recycle only Use what's in your club. All rewards are untradeable, so none of these makes you coins.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Upgrade SBCs turn cards you own into random untradeable cards. Feed them dupes and spare golds, never fodder you bought.

How do Streamlined SBCs change what's worth doing?

Streamlined SBCs replace squad requirements with a single score target, so the real question is no longer "can I build this?" but "what's sitting in my club that I'd never sell?" You submit any eligible cards until the score target is hit. Chemistry and positions don't matter, duplicates count, and you can save partial progress.

Dexerto's FC 27 SBC explainer confirms each card's score is based on rarity and rating, that you can submit multiple versions of the same player, and that you get packs as compensation if an SBC expires half-finished. Fifauteam's SBC score guide adds that score jumps sharply from 83 OVR upwards and that partial submissions save.

Two things this changes for you:

  • The score target is not the coin cost. Malen's target is 90,000. His cheapest solve is about 95K coins today, and that'll move whenever 84s move.
  • Rarity matters, not just rating. On FUT.GG, Malen's 85 POTM card carries a grading score of 2,625, while Espí's 85 Future Stars card carries 3,150. Same overall, different score. Check before you throw a special card in.

If you're still getting your head around this year's changes, my rundown of every Ultimate Team change in FC 27 covers Streamlined SBCs alongside everything else.

"But won't fodder get cheaper if I wait?"

Sometimes. Here's the honest version. The big POTMs all have roughly three weeks left from 10 October, so there's no reason to panic-buy 1,500 84s tonight. Grind Rivals and Champs rewards, drip your dupes in, and buy only the gap at the end.

The cheap SBCs are different. Groß, Patati and the EFL pick cost less than 20K each. Waiting a week to save 1,500 coins on fodder isn't worth losing the card.

  • Mon 12 – Wed 14 October

The gold upgrades go first: 3x 79+ (around 12 Oct), 5x 80+ (13 Oct) and the Max. 86 Base Hero Upgrade (14 Oct). Recycle spare golds before then.

  • Thu 15 – Sat 17 October

Patati (15 Oct), Espí and the TOTW Upgrade (16 Oct), then the EFL Championship Future Stars Pick (17 Oct). Future Stars Team 2 is expected on 16 Oct.

  • Thu 29 – Fri 30 October

Olise and Malen around 29 Oct, Groß and Raphinha around 30 Oct.

  • Tue 3 November · 18:00 UTC

Pina, the last of the September POTMs, expires. That is 6 PM in the UK.

The FC 27 SBC rule nobody follows

Before any SBC, check one number: what does the tradeable version cost?

  • If the SBC beats it by a lot for little extra, like Groß and Malen, cop.
  • If there's no tradeable version near it, like Patati and the Future Stars cards, judge it on squad fit.
  • If a tradeable card is almost as good and far cheaper, like Olise and Pina, buy that instead and keep your coins liquid.

That's it. That's the whole system.

Before any SBC, check one number: what does the tradeable version cost?

Best FC 27 SBCs: quick answers

What is the best SBC in FC 27 right now?

Pascal Groß POTM is the best-value player SBC in FC 27 right now. He costs about 20K on FUT.GG's cheapest solve and grades 85.8 at CM, against 81.4 for his roughly 12K tradeable TOTW card. The EFL Championship Future Stars Pick (~15K) is the best new one.

Is the Olise POTM SBC worth it in FC 27?

Not for most players. The Olise POTM SBC costs about 734K, while his tradeable gold 90 is about 153K and only around 1.6 GG points worse at CAM. Do it only if untradeable fodder covers most of the 700,000 score target.

Which FC 27 SBCs expire soonest?

As of 10 October 2026, Tarciane (Destined for Glory) had under a day left, the 3x 79+ Upgrade about two days, 5x 80+ about three, the Base Hero Upgrade four, Patati five, Espí and the TOTW Upgrade six, and the EFL Championship pick seven. The September POTMs run for roughly 19 to 24 more days.

Should you buy fodder for upgrade SBCs?

No. Upgrade SBCs trade cards you own for random, untradeable rewards. Use dupes and spare golds you already own. Buy fodder only to finish a player SBC you actually want, where the reward is fixed.

Do Future Stars SBC cards upgrade in FC 27?

Yes. Per FIFPlay, Future Stars cards gain +1 OVR at 4 domestic league starts and +1 more at 8, with PlayStyle+ and 5-star weak foot upgrades for goal contributions or clean sheets. Tracking began on 9 October, and the upgrades are scheduled for 3 February 2027.

The bottom line

  • Do the cheap ones now. Groß, the EFL Championship Future Stars Pick and Patati are all under 20K and better than anything that price on the market.
  • Malen is the best mid-price SBC. About 95K for a jump from an 85.0 to an 87.6 GG striker.
  • Price every big SBC against its tradeable twin. Olise and Pina lose that test. Raphinha only wins it against his own TOTW.
  • Upgrades are recycling, not investing. Feed them your club, never your coin balance.

And if you've read all this and gold Olise at 153K is now the obvious move but you're 40K short, you're in good company. You can top up with FC 27 coins at WhatsGaming.
