FC 27 Road to the Knockouts (RTTK): Release Date, Upgrade Path & Every Fixture That Counts

Ultimate Scream is on its last legs, and the cards everyone actually holds onto all season are next.

RTTK is the promo where your card's rating depends on a Tuesday night in Bodø. Get the club right and it climbs until late January. Get it wrong and you've paid a premium for a gold card in fancy art.

The straight answer: FC 27 Road to the Knockouts (RTTK) is expected on Friday 6 November 2026 at 6 PM UK time (11:30 PM IST, 1 PM ET), straight after Ultimate Scream ends. The items are live cards that upgrade on real results in the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Women's Champions League league phases. The final upgrade round is expected on Friday 29 January 2027. As of today, EA hasn't confirmed the date, the squad or the upgrade path.

That last bit is the important part. Most of what's floating around right now is last year's rules with “FC 27” pasted on top. Below I've separated what's actually locked in from what's educated guesswork, and pointed out the fixture problem that hits before the promo even launches.

What's confirmed about FC 27 RTTK, and what's still a guess?

Only three things about FC 27 Road to the Knockouts are on the record: it's back under the RTTK name, it's a Season 2 campaign, and it follows Ultimate Scream, which ends at 6 PM UK on Friday 6 November. Everything else, including the date, squad, path and length, is expected but not official.

FUT.GG's RTTK preview notes that EA's Launch Roadmap lists RTTK as a Season 2 campaign without a date. FIFPlay's RTTK page still has the release date, squad and upgrade conditions as TBA. FIFAUTeam's event tracker pencils in 6 to 13 November but labels it as estimated, and its FC 27 player tables are still empty placeholders.

When does FC 27 Road to the Knockouts come out?

FC 27 Road to the Knockouts is expected to release on Friday 6 November 2026 at 6 PM UK time (18:00 UTC), the moment Ultimate Scream ends. If EA runs it for two weeks, Team 2 would follow on Friday 13 November and the campaign would close on 20 November.

Good news if you're in the US: your clocks went back on 1 November, so the hour gap from last week's Ultimate Scream drop is gone. You're back to the usual 10 AM PT slot.

Is FC 27 RTTK one week or two?

Nobody outside EA knows yet. History points both ways. FC 24 and FC 25 both ran RTTK for two weeks as a launch-window campaign. FC 26 renamed it UEFA Primetime and ran it for one week in November, per FUT.GG's promo history.

FC 27 has the same November slot as FC 26. EA's FC 27 Launch Update also commits to fewer campaigns and smaller squads this year. My read: one week is at least as likely as two. Don't wait for Team 2 to arrive before you buy something you actually want from Team 1.

FC 27 Road to the Knockouts upgrade path: what to expect

EA hasn't published the FC 27 RTTK upgrade path. It normally lands on launch day alongside the squad. The best reference is FC 26's UEFA Primetime path, but two Launch Update changes mean it can't carry over as-is.

The FC 26 path (the closest template)

This is how UEFA Primetime upgraded last year, per FUT.GG's FC 26 Primetime breakdown. UCL and UEL shared the same thresholds. UECL ran on a shorter window. The last column is my read of whether each step still works under FC 27's rules.

Primetime Heroes had their own path: +1 OVR for two wins in the next four matches, and Role++ plus two base PlayStyles for four goals in the next four league matches.

Why last year's path can't just be copied over

Two lines in EA's FC 27 Launch Update break it, as Dot Esports' summary of the Launch Update lays out:

FUT.GG thinks EA will likely swap in +1 OVR steps, a single PS+, a 5-star weak foot, or an extra base PlayStyle for cards already carrying a PS+. That's speculation, and they say so. Treat it as a sensible guess, not a spoiler.

Team conditions or individual ones?

This is the biggest unknown, and it changes which cards are worth buying. FC 25 used team-only conditions. Per Destructoid's FC 25 RTTK breakdown, cards upgraded for three league wins, scoring in four different matches, and a top-two finish. Per FIFAUTeam's rules summary, the player didn't even need to play.

FC 26 added individual conditions such as appearing in a win, a goal or assist, or a clean sheet. That made a benchwarmer at a top club a worse buy than a nailed-on starter at a decent one.

You'll know which on Friday evening.

Which matches count for FC 27 RTTK upgrades?

FC 27 RTTK items upgrade on the league phases of four UEFA competitions. The UCL and UEL run until 27–28 January 2027. The UECL and UWCL finish in mid-December. Knockout matches don't count. Upgrades stop once the league phase ends.

Here's what's left after launch, checked against UEFA's own calendars for the Champions League, Conference League and Women's Champions League, plus Flashscore's Europa League schedule:

Do this week's European games count for RTTK?

Unconfirmed, and it matters more than usual this year. UCL Matchday 4 is on 3–4 November. UEL Matchday 4 and UECL Matchday 3 are on 5 November. All three land in the days before RTTK drops.

Under FC 25's rules, every league-phase match counted, including the ones played before launch. Under FC 26's “next four matches” wording, only post-launch games counted. FUT.GG flags exactly this split.

Here's the bit nobody else is spelling out. If FC 27 copies FC 26's UWCL wording (“7+ points in the next 4”), it can't work. Only three UWCL matchdays are left after 6 November. So expect EA to either shorten the UWCL window to three games, like UECL, or count the whole league phase. That's my reading of the calendar, not an EA statement. Either way, the UWCL path will look different from last year's.

What happens if an RTTK player transfers?

He stops upgrading. EA's RTTK rule since FIFA 22 is that a player no longer registered with the club on his card at the start of the campaign isn't eligible for further upgrades, per FUT.GG and FIFAUTeam. January is a transfer window. Factor that in on any player with exit rumours.

When do FC 27 RTTK upgrades go live?

If FC 27 follows the usual pattern, upgrades land on the Friday after each matchweek. The last batch is expected on Friday 29 January 2027. Neither EA nor anyone else has confirmed the exact days. This is the schedule you get when you line the UEFA calendar up against FC 25's Friday-after-matchweek habit, as FUT.GG laid out.

Notice the gap. Between 11 December and 22 January, nothing moves for UCL and UEL cards. If your plan is to sell a card after it upgrades, that's six weeks of holding it.

Who will be in FC 27 RTTK Team 1?

No one yet. EA hasn't announced the squad, and no reliable Team 1 leak exists as of 2 November 2026. Ultimate Scream Team 1 leaked about three days early, so a leak this week would fit the pattern. When it lands, it'll be here.

What we can reasonably expect:

• Squad size of around 15. EA's Launch Update set FC 27 campaigns smaller than FC 26's. Destined for Glory and Future Stars ran 15 per team, and Ultimate Scream ran 17.
• Cards from all four competitions, women's players included.
• Possibly Heroes. FC 26's UEFA Primetime was where EA debuted campaign Heroes, per EA's FC 26 Primetime announcement, and FC 27's Ultimate Scream already had a Hero trio. RTTK Heroes would make sense, but they're not confirmed.

For scale, FC 25's RTTK Team 1 was led by a 91-rated Jude Bellingham, per FIFAUTeam's history table. Don't expect FC 27's ratings to land as high. EA has said attribute jumps between campaigns are being reduced this year.

Are FC 27 RTTK cards worth buying?

Yes, but only on a club you'd back to win games through to January, and only once you've seen the path. An RTTK card is the base card plus a bet on a European campaign.

How I'd approach it:

1. Wait for the path graphic on Friday. Team-only conditions favour the club. Individual conditions favour nailed-on starters and penalty takers.
2. Check the table after this week's games. If pre-launch matches count, clubs already in the top eight are halfway there.
3. Look at the remaining opponents. Four UCL games left is not a lot. A club facing three heavyweights in Matchdays 5 to 8 is a risky pick, whatever its name.
4. UECL and UWCL cards pay out faster. They're done by 18 December. UCL and UEL cards make you wait until late January.
5. Avoid January transfer candidates. One move and the card's upgrades stop.
6. Skip RTTK Evolutions if you're chasing upgrades. FC 26's UEFA Primetime Evolutions didn't receive live upgrades, per FUT.GG. EA hasn't said whether FC 27 works the same way.

Are RTTK SBC and objective cards tradeable?

No. As with every campaign, RTTK cards from SBCs and objectives are untradeable. Only pack pulls go on the Transfer Market. If an SBC card later upgrades, you keep the better card, but you can't cash it in.

The honest bit: RTTK prices are usually at their silliest on launch night, when everyone's opening packs and nobody's checked the fixtures yet. That's not me telling you to wait or to buy. It's when you should be making the decision with the most information, and that's usually after the first upgrade day or two, not in the first hour.

How do you get FC 27 Road to the Knockouts players?

From packs and the Transfer Market from 6 PM UK on 6 November, plus any RTTK SBCs and objectives EA adds during the week. None of those have been revealed yet. Packs are a lottery. The market is the only way to guarantee the exact club and card you've scouted.
