FC 27 Season 2 Promo Schedule: Ultimate Scream, RTTK, Thunderstruck and How to Plan Your Coins

Six days. That's about how long you've got before the first Halloween card hits the market, if EA sticks to its Friday habit.

And half the internet is already quoting FC 27 full-moon upgrade dates like EA carved them into a tombstone. It didn't. Not one of them.

The straight answer: The FC 27 Season 2 promo schedule covers October and November 2026 and lists four Ultimate Team campaigns: Ultimate Scream, UEFA Road to the Knockouts (RTTK), Hall of FUT Unleashed and Black Friday Thunderstruck. EA's roadmap gives the campaigns and the window, not the exact days. The expected Fridays are 23 October (Ultimate Scream), 6 November (RTTK), 20 November (Hall of FUT Unleashed) and 27 November (Thunderstruck).

The bit that should actually change how you spend this week is the moon maths. It's further down. It's worth the scroll.

What's on the FC 27 Season 2 promo schedule?

Four campaigns, one window, zero confirmed release days. EA's roadmap puts Ultimate Scream, UEFA RTTK, Hall of FUT Unleashed and Black Friday Thunderstruck in Season 2, which runs across October and November. Every specific date you'll see, including the ones below, is an expectation built on EA's Friday release pattern.

Insider Gaming's breakdown of the FC 27 content roadmap lists all four for Season 2 and gives each one the same October to November range. RealSport101's FC 27 promo calendar slots them onto specific Fridays and marks every single one as expected. Gamereactor's FUT preview also places Ultimate Scream and a Hall of FUT campaign in Season 2.

So here's the honest version of the calendar:

Both RealSport101 and Insider Gaming point to the same slot: Fridays at 6pm UK, 10am PT. That's been the pattern all year, and it's why everyone has landed on these four Fridays.

• Fri 23 October 2026, 18:00 UK

  Ultimate Scream is expected. EA hasn't confirmed the date, the players or the upgrade rules.

• Mon 26 October 2026

  Hunter's Moon. FC 26's Scream didn't use the October full moon for upgrades.

• Fri 6 November 2026

  UEFA Road to the Knockouts is expected. FC 27 upgrade rules aren't published.

• Fri 20 November 2026

  Hall of FUT Unleashed is expected. No mechanics, player pool or rewards are public.

• Tue 24 November 2026

  Beaver Moon. Some sites list it as the first Scream upgrade day, but that is a projection, not an EA date.

• Fri 27 November 2026

  Black Friday Thunderstruck is expected, the most predictable date of the four.

• Thu 24 December 2026 (UK)

  Cold Moon, in the early hours UK time (23 December US Eastern). A projected second Scream upgrade would land here, after Season 2.

When does FC 27 Ultimate Scream come out?

Ultimate Scream is expected on Friday 23 October 2026 at 6pm UK. EA hasn't announced it. FIFPlay's FC 27 Ultimate Scream page calls 23 October a possible date and keeps the official date as TBA, and fifauteam's Ultimate Scream page lists the same day as an estimate.

The logic holds up. EA's FC 26 Ultimate Scream announcement went up on Friday 24 October 2025. Same promo, same slot, one year on, lands on 23 October.

What nobody knows yet, as of FIFPlay's update on 16 October:

• the players
• the ratings
• whether there's a Team 2
• the upgrade rules

That last one is where it gets messy.

Will FC 27 Ultimate Scream have full moon upgrades?

Not confirmed. FC 26's Ultimate Scream used full moons, and plenty of sites are assuming FC 27 will too. EA hasn't published a single upgrade rule or date for the FC 27 version.

Here's what FC 26 actually did, straight from EA's FC 26 page:

• Beaver Moon, 5 November 2025: Role+ added.
• Cold Moon, 4 December 2025: Role++ added in all positions and alternate positions.
• On each full moon: one random face stat boosted to 99 for seven days.
• Permanence: all upgrades permanent, apart from that seven-day 99 boost.
• The catch: items created through Evolutions didn't get the moon upgrades.

Proper fun promo, that. Now here's the bit nobody's flagging.

The 2026 moon maths

Full moons don't care about EA's calendar. The Old Farmer's Almanac full moon table puts this year's at:

fifauteam's page already lists 24 November and 24 December as the FC 27 Scream upgrade days. That's last year's system laid over this year's sky. It might turn out right. It isn't an EA announcement.

And if EA does copy the system, look what it does to your card:

1. The first upgrade comes a month after launch. Last year it was 12 days from launch to the Beaver Moon. This year it'd be 32.
2. The second upgrade lands on Christmas Eve. That's outside the October to November Season 2 window entirely. You'd be waiting into the next season for your Role++.

Could EA just use the Hunter's Moon on 26 October instead, three days after launch? Sure. It didn't last year, and nothing says it will now.

Don't pay boost-week prices for a stat that disappears

One more thing from FC 26. That 99 face stat lasted seven days. Then it was gone.

A slow centre-back with 99 pace for a week is a lovely week. It's not a pacey centre-back. If the boost comes back, the card's price during boost week is pricing in something that expires. Buy before or after it, not during it.

How will UEFA RTTK work in FC 27?

EA hasn't published FC 27 RTTK rules. It's expected on Friday 6 November. The most recent official RTTK rules I could verify are FC 25's, so that's the template worth knowing.

According to EA's FC 25 Road to the Knockouts page, each card could earn up to three upgrades based purely on how the club did in Europe:

Two details from that version matter if FC 27 copies it:

• It's team performance, not the player's. Your card doesn't need to play. The club needs to win.
• Upgrades go live on the Friday after each matchweek, and in FC 25, Champions League wins from before RTTK launched still counted.

That second point is the interesting one. By 6 November, a chunk of the league phase is already played. If early wins count again, some cards will drop with progress already banked. If they don't, it's a fresh race. EA hasn't said which.

Hall of FUT Unleashed: the one nobody can explain yet

It's on the roadmap and RealSport101 expects it on Friday 20 November. That's genuinely all that's public. No mechanics, no player pool, no rewards.

Black Friday Thunderstruck in FC 27: what last year tells you

Thunderstruck is expected on Friday 27 November 2026. Black Friday is fixed to the calendar, so this is the most predictable date of the lot, but EA still hasn't announced it.

EA's FC 26 Thunderstruck page is the template. Last year:

• Release: the main team and ICONs dropped Friday 28 November 2025, with more players that day and on 30 November.
• Tracking: each player's next 5 domestic league matches, for their current or former club.
• Win or draw 2 of them: one base PlayStyle.
• Win or draw 3 of them: All Roles++ in all positions.
• Score 10 goals: PlayStyle+ (max one) or a base PlayStyle.

Notice what's missing. No overall rating upgrades. Thunderstruck in FC 26 was PlayStyles and Roles, not OVR.

And notice what it rewards. Wins and draws are team results again. Five league games is roughly five weekends, so the fixture list is doing most of the work. A card from a club with three winnable games coming is worth more than a better-rated card from a club facing the top three.

How should you plan your FC 27 coins for Season 2?

Spread them across all four promos, keep a decent chunk liquid, and buy cards for what they are today, not what they might become. Four campaigns in roughly six weeks means four chances to win and four chances to blow the lot on week one.

Here's how I'd play it. This is my approach, not a rule:

1. Before 23 October: clear out the fodder you'll never use and stock up for SBCs. Don't panic-buy on Thursday night because a leak says someone's getting a card.
2. Ultimate Scream week: only buy cards you'd use without any boost. If the 99 stat comes back, avoid buying during boost week.
3. RTTK: treat it like homework. Club results so far, fixtures left, then the price.
4. Hall of FUT Unleashed: hold until the rules are out.
5. Black Friday: keep the biggest share of your coins free for this one. It's the week with the most packs and the most chaos, which is exactly when you want options.

I'd keep about a third of my coins untouched at any point in Season 2. Not because a promo might be amazing. Because a flash SBC on a Tuesday always is.

Thunderstruck is the one to save for. RTTK is the one to study. Ultimate Scream is the one to enjoy without overpaying. Hall of FUT Unleashed is a wildcard until EA explains it.

Ultimate Scream is always fun, but if the moon system returns as-is, its upgrades arrive late and the second one lands in Season 3. RTTK rewards people who look at fixtures. Thunderstruck rewards the same thing, lands on the busiest market week of the year, and is the promo where having coins spare matters most.
