FC 27 Future Stars Team 2: Players, Ratings, Upgrades and Release Date

Team 1 had seven cards that couldn't gain a single OVR point from live upgrades. If the leaks are right, Team 2 could have more.

The straight answer: FC 27 Future Stars Team 2 is due in packs today, Friday 16 October 2026, at 18:00 UK time (17:00 UTC, 10:00 PT), replacing Team 1. A leak from 12 October names 15 players, led by Kobbie Mainoo, Franco Mastantuono and Rayan. The cards follow the same live-upgrade rules as Team 1: +1 OVR at 4 starts and again at 8, capped at 86 and then 87, plus a PlayStyle+ and 5★ weak foot for goal involvements or clean sheets. EA hasn't confirmed the squad or the ratings yet.

That cap is the whole story. Most of the big names are leaked at 87 or higher, which means their OVR never moves. The cards that can actually grow are the ones nobody's talking about.

FC 27 Future Stars Team 2 at a glance

Everything confirmed below comes from EA's FC 27 Future Stars article. Everything marked "leaked" comes from the 12 October leak and the coverage around it, and could still change when the cards go live.

Read the right-hand column before you plan your coins around a rating. Two leak versions are doing the rounds, and they disagree by up to two OVR on some cards. Two OVR is exactly the gap between "upgrades" and "doesn't".

When does FC 27 Future Stars Team 2 come out?

Friday 16 October 2026, expected at 18:00 UK time. That's 17:00 UTC, 19:00 CEST, 13:00 EDT, 10:00 PDT and 22:30 IST, according to Destructoid's release countdown. EA hasn't published a time, but 18:00 UK is the standard Friday promo slot and it's when Team 1 dropped a week ago.

Team 2 replaces Team 1 in packs, so if you want a Team 1 card from a pack, you've got until 18:00. After that it's the transfer market or nothing. Expect Team 2 to stay in packs for about a week, until the next campaign takes the Friday slot on 23 October, the day after Season 1 ends.

  FUT Police Leaks posts the 15-name Team 2 list. The leaker labels the stats and PlayStyles+ a prediction.

  Team 2 is expected in packs, replacing Team 1. The fourth Future Stars Academy step is also due.

• Sat 17 October 2026

  The PlayStyle+ Lab opens alongside the first UEFA Star Performers eligible for PlayStyle+ upgrades, per EA.

• Thu 22 October 2026, 07:59 UK

  Season 1 ends. The next Friday campaign is expected on 23 October.

• 3 February 2027

  Every Future Stars upgrade earned since 9 October lands on the cards.

One date on that list matters more than it looks. Tracking started on 9 October for every Future Stars card, Team 2 included. So the matches these players have already played since then count, even though you couldn't pack them yet.

Who's in FC 27 Future Stars Team 2? The full leaked squad

Fifteen players, all leaked, none confirmed by EA. The names first appeared on 12 October through FUT Police Leaks, as Soccer Gaming reported the next day. The leaker said the stats and PlayStyles+ were a prediction. A second version with different numbers has been circulating since, so the table shows the range across both.

"OVR room" is simple maths against EA's caps. A card at 85 can reach 87, a card at 86 can reach 87, and a card at 87 or above stays where it is. It says nothing about whether the player will actually get the starts.

Anyone else?

Johan Manzambi keeps coming up as an SBC or objective card, not a pack card. Treat that as a rumour until it appears in the SBC tab. Neither leak lists Manzambi among the 15.

How do FC 27 Future Stars Team 2 upgrades work?

Exactly like Team 1. EA's upgrade table is the same for every Future Stars card: starts give OVR, goal involvements or clean sheets give a PlayStyle+ and then 5★ weak foot. Only domestic league matches count, and the upgrades all land together on 3 February 2027.

Two fallback rules matter. A card that already has a PlayStyle+ gets an extra base PlayStyle instead. A card that already has 5★ weak foot gets 5★ skill moves instead. And a clean sheet only counts if the player actually appeared in the match.

The CDM trap

Kobbie Mainoo is leaked as a CDM, and EA puts CDM in the DEF/GK group. So Mainoo's PlayStyle+ comes from 4 clean sheets, not from goals and assists, and the weak foot needs 7. A midfielder who never scores can still get both, but only if the team keeps the door shut. It works the other way too: an attacking CM like Alex Scott needs 7 goal involvements, which is a lot for a midfielder by February.

Which FC 27 Future Stars Team 2 cards are actually worth it?

Rayan and Mainoo for the meta, Canales and Tresoldi for upgrade value. That's the short version, with one big condition: these are leaked ratings, and a one-point miss changes the value cards completely.

Here's how I'd split it, as opinion:

• Rayan (leaked 88–90, RM/RW). The highest rating in either leak, and a right-sided runner is exactly what FC 27's pace-heavy attacking play rewards. No OVR upgrade to wait for, so you get the full card on day one. The PlayStyle+ needs 7 goal involvements, which a starting winger can realistically hit.
• Kobbie Mainoo (leaked 87–89, CDM). The best-known name in the squad. Because of the CDM trap, the extras depend on clean sheets, so the defence around Mainoo matters more than personal form.
• Franco Mastantuono (leaked 88–89, RM/CAM). A huge name, but the price will be too. No OVR room either way, so you're paying for the base card.
• Peio Canales (leaked 85, CAM). The one card both leaks agree is at 85. With 8 league starts by February, Canales finishes at 87, with a PlayStyle+ on top at 7 G+A.
• Nicolò Tresoldi and Marveille Kanjinga (leaked 85–86, ST). Strikers have the easiest PlayStyle+ route in the set, because goals count. Either could be the quiet bargain of the week.

And the defenders? Pubill, Brown and Thompson are leaked at 87 or higher in both versions, so their OVR is fixed. Their value comes from clean-sheet extras, which makes them a bet on their club's defence as much as on them. Hato and Jeltsch only have OVR room if the lower numbers hold.

Team 1 vs Team 2

Team 1 went out with 8 of its 15 cards still able to gain OVR. Seven, including Vicky López at 90 and Rio Ngumoha at 89, were already at or over the cap. Either way it's a more top-heavy squad than Team 1, which is good for pack pulls and bad for upgrade hunters.

How do you get Future Stars Team 2 players?

Mostly packs, plus the transfer market, plus whatever SBCs and objectives EA adds during the week. Packs never promise a specific card, so if you want one particular player, the market is the only certain route.

• Packs. From 18:00 UK, Team 2 replaces Team 1 in packs, including those from objectives, SBCs and rewards.
• Transfer market. Tradeable Team 2 cards stay on the market after they leave packs, so you're not forced to buy on release night.
• SBCs and objectives. EA promises Player SBCs and Puzzle SBCs throughout Future Stars, but names none for Team 2. Manzambi is the rumoured one.
• The Academy. The fourth and last Future Stars Academy Evolution is dated for today too, and finishes your ST or CAM at 85 OVR. It's not a Team 2 card, but it's a free Future Star if you started the chain.

Should you buy Team 2 cards on release night?

Only the card you'd play every game. Release-night prices are the highest a promo card usually sees, because everyone opens packs and lists at once over the following days. For Future Stars, the extras don't arrive until February, so there's no reason to pay day-one prices for a card you're buying "for the upgrades".

For the upgrade cards, the starts are the thing to watch. A card at 85 that isn't starting for its club is just an 85. Give it a few matchdays, see who's actually playing, and buy the ones collecting starts.
