We've finally got to this time of year where Football season has started and EA Sports releases a new FIFA. Many FIFA players are eager to access the game earlier to see how the gameplay is; which you can do through the early access program on EA Play.

FIFA 22 is a big part of the perennial sports game. This year, we get to actually see what EA Sports has done with the new-gen tech and how it's going to affect your FIFA experience compared to previous versions. There are limited video games that have challenged PS5 and Xbox Series X/S performance and power! Maybe FIFA will be the first game to really make their power glow. Stay with us and see how and when can you access the game earlier and what new features the game will bring this time.

FIFA 22 early access

FIFA 22 is due to release on October 1 2021 for PCPS4PS5Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch. Usually, EA Sports grants 10 hours of early access to the full version of the game through EA Play but only to the selected players. However, the offer has been increased to 20 hours in honor of FIFA 22, so players have more time to play the game, enjoy the new features and help the game developers to fix all the remaining flaws before the game releases on October 1.

FIFA 22 will be released in two versions, Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition. Although the Ultimate Edition costs more, it comes with extra features including 4 days early access, 4600 FIFA Points, a Ones to Watch Player, and a FUT Heroes Player. Note that in order to access these extra features you needed to pre-order the game before August 11.

As the publishers stated, you won't be able to upgrade to the next-gen versions of FIFA 22 for free. That means if you purchase FIFA 22 Standard Edition on PS4 and upgrade to PS5 later, you would need to purchase the PS5 version of the game to play.

Playing the FIFA 22 early

There are a few simple steps to do, in order to play FIFA 22 earlier than others.

  1. Sign up to EA Play (Subscribe)
  2. Pre-load the game
  3. Notice the EA Play early access start-up and load up FIFA 22
  4. Play the trial version

When does the early access start?

Usually, a week earlier than the official release, the early access begins; This year it starts on September 22. When it starts, you will be able to download the trial client and joyfully play your limited 20 hours of FIFA 22. Note that players who finish the 20 hours of the trial version before the official release, will have to wait until launch to continue playing.

FIFA 22 Gameplay

FIFA 22 is the first version of the FIFA franchise to be released on next-gen consoles, which means EA has been able to make some major adjustments to the gameplay systems. For example, a new AI system has been introduced for goalkeepers. This system makes the shot-stopping process more stable and human-like with more realistic decision-making. With the given personalities, Goalies will have different reactions, especially when they're under pressure. The gameplay changes are varied. They have improved players' experiences in almost every aspect, including Sprinting, Ball Physics, New attacking tactics, and more. Let's take a close look at some of the important ones.

FIFA 22 Career Mode

It seems that players will be able to create their own football club from zero and enter their clubs in any league they want. The experience in customizing the club is pretty much the same as before except that now you can design your own stadium, crest, kit, and even the grasses on the pitch! It's wonderful how many details you can change to make your desired club. As you start your club, a series of randomly generated players will be given to you, which you can choose the age and the average ability of the given players. As you enter the pitch, three FUT match objectives will be given to you as a survey to earn the maximum XP. The objectives depend on your position, formation, and other factors. When you build up your players, a skill tree allows you to specialize professionally and focus on specific traits.

FIFA 22 Pro Club

FIFA 22 Pro Club has got the option to play as a woman which is the first time this has been made possible in FIFA history. You can create female pros and play alongside the male counterparts without impacting the gameplay. Women footballers are currently available to play via international teams and Volta mode.

Another great addition to Pro Club is starting some matches with your friends without affecting your club's record. The option is for the times you can't get your whole squad together for a whole season, because let's face it, not always 10 or more people are available for an event, but you still want to be able to play matches with some of them. You also will be able to see your player's growth from post-game screens showing your performances. It's made it possible to see how much XP you've gained and how many more you need to reach the next level.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team

Introducing a new series of players cards who may not have Icon status but are a big part of the game. The cards are including David Ginola, Mario Gomez, Robbie Keane, and more. The same structure in Division Rivals that by playing matches and perform a decent play you will progress through ranks, divisions, and new stages for better weekly rewards, (FUT 22 coins, players, consumables, etc) is now taking place for a whole season. There's also a new Division called "Elite" that is introduced for the Pro players who have the best performances and skills and will be able to compete with other high-skilled players in the FIFA Global Series.
The good news for Co-Op Fans is that there's no need for them to squad up with their friends to enter an online co-operatively match in FUT. They can search for a matching mate and enter the FUT Friendlies lobby to play 2v2.
